The front runners followed paper going left alongside a flooded worked out quarry, only about 20 m wide but about 0.5 km long! They said they never saw a false trail sign just heard shouting way back as Long Ron directed the rest straight on...and there was no way of cutting across except by swimming. So that worked well and effective checks kept the pack together as the trail meandered through pleasant countryside, also a military training area apparently. Our paper perhaps confused them, so they picked it up and then confused our front runners. Some hope for anybody in the platoon being effective on an international emergency. They couldn't understand a word of Screwdriver's army lingo. The last stretch of trail was like a route march... straight along Hupkapong road for about 2 km back to the beer.

*Ballbanger was not there but marked out much of the trail before leaving for USA. Mickey and Minnie provided very good signage for the route to the car park and some really good checks and false trails that kept the pack together. The river crossing sorted out the ones that followed paper from those that thought they knew better and ended up in deeper water! Down-downs were awarded to Space Cowboy for his 69th Birthday and a welcome back for Lily the Pink
Location Off Hupkapong Road near Lumbering Jack's house Photos by Lily the Pink Photos by Cathusalem GPS scan by Hugmanannygoat The Long Walk trail was 5.5km. It started in an anti-clockwise loop but crossed over into a big clockwise loop. Many good checks, false trails and boggy rivers to cross kept the pack close together On After Neeshy Restaurant on Narathip Road, Cha-Am |
