Location: Bat cave viewpoint North of Cha-am
We parked on the roadside at the bat cave viewpoint from where there is a path leading up to the cave. A few hashers arrived early and climbed to the cave (see Hugs's photos). That was all the climbing they did because the trail itself was dead flat but with some magnificent views of the surrounding rocky crags. We had been expecting the circle to be over before the bats emerged but for some reason they came out in their millions about half an hour before sunset, which made photographing them much easier. Subsequent down-down recipients included returners Hong Kong Dong, Suzy Dong, Sodomy and Melon Masher, virgins Korn and Donny, visitor Tokyo Joe, the hares "who laid the trail" and Tinks for next week's hare.
