Notes on the trail as planned by the hares
Check 1 had to be abandoned due to the FRB's nearly being killed by stampeding cows. One Hasher (VD?) was missed by inches as a cow ran past him at full speed and into the barbed wire fence taking away the concrete posts.
According to Google Earth the runners trail, excluding false trails was 7.25km, but due to zig zagging up monks hill Brambles Bill recorded a total distance of 7.62km, the long walkers was recorded as 5.5km although I'm sure it would have been closer to 6km for the same reason and the short walk was recorded as 4.75km steep hill included.
At Check 7 Old MacDonald and Donkey Cock strayed off paper and into a housing estate then on to soi 112 where I managed to find and pick up O M none the worse for wear. Donkey Cock found his way home.
